Scripture Based Instructions for Children Canvas Set- Item #111

This is a one of a kind set is based on six principles most parents want their children to put into practice.  Many times as a parent it's hard to explain the reason we want our children to behave a certain way.  These canvases point our hearts to scripture for the primary reason.  My purpose in making these was not to manipulate a child into moralism but to demonstrate what the standard is set for us by God's word and hopefully remind us when we fail to do these things we can find grace and forgiveness at the cross because of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ!  Each individual canvas measures 8"x10" and can be arranged in any order or placement you would like.

Oh Glorious Day 12"x16" Canvas- Item #109

These are the lyrics to one of my husband's favorite songs that we sing at church. "Oh Glorious Day" has recently become more popular as it is performed by contemporary Christian band Casting Crowns from their 2009 album Until the Whole World Hears. While the music was composed by the band, the lyrics come from the hymn "One Day", written in 1910 by John Wilbur Chapman, and the song's verse melody was set by Michael Bleecker at The Village Church in Flower Mound, Texas.

To make this amazing piece, my husband covered the canvas with hymnal paper, set letters in place, and painted the background black. Then he removed the letters revealing the lyrics whose letters subtly reveal the hymnal pages. Bid on this one of a kind piece to be daily inspired by the gospel!

Electronic Copy of our Advent Study for Kids- Item #104

Pregnant with my first child, I began looking for an advent study that we could use every year with our children at Christmas time. Most of them focused only on the story of Jesus birth. What I was wanting was something more all encompassing. The term advent means "coming" and I wanted to focus on how the whole bible is about the two periods of waiting for Christ to come: 1) The long-awaited birth of the Messiah and 2) How we are currently waiting for His return to earth. The closest thing I found was the Jesse Tree advent study. Although this was good, I really wanted something with shorter lessonsand more scripture. I also wanted each lesson to point out how we can see Jesus in that particular bible story. On top of all that, I wanted something that we could communicate clearly to our toddlers but use the same study for years to come and adapt how we teach it. Pretty lofty expectations, hun? Yeah, we looked and looked and could not find exactly what we wanted so...my husband and I decided to put together our own advent study. Three years later we finally finished compiling it and last year we were able to begin our annual tradition.
We bound our reading materials into a book. In our book we have scripture passages that have been already typed out and made to flow like a story and prayer that helps us to understand how the passage we read reveals Jesus. All in all, these lessons are meant to remind us that Jesus came to redeem us. We also made ornaments for each day. To see a full list of each day's lesson click here.
We would like to offer an electronic copy of our book to anyone who would like to have it. Every person who makes a bid of $3.00 or more is guaranteed an electronic copy of our book!

Stipulations:
* This listing is for a digital, printable file only.
* Materials Needed: Printer, paper, bible
* Bidding on this item does not include the handmade ornaments but it will be fun for you and your children to make the ornaments yourself. You can get as creative as you want by painting them, coloring pictures, or whatever fits your family best.
* This is for personal use only. It is not meant to be reproduced or distributed
.
